Jamie Nelson, Children's Director

Jamie Nelson has been our Children's Director since September of 2009. Jamie has a BA in Drama from the University of Dallas and an MFA from California Institute of the Arts. She is married to a former Marine and has two boys. She grew up in Oak Cliff and Tyler Street and cannot imagine living anywhere else! She likes cooking, eating and playing outside!

Keum Hwang, Music and Fine Arts Director

Keum grew up as a preacher's kid all of her life with two younger brothers who are now all grown up. She received her undergraduate degree from UC Irvine in Voice Performance and a Masters of Sacred Music fom Southern Methodist University. She had the privilege of serving at FUMC Sachse as Minister of Worship while in school and following graduation for seven years. Following God's call, she is now serving at Tyler Street UMC as the Director of Music and Fine Arts.

Kay Talbert, Financial Administrator

Kay is from Fort Worth, a graduate of UNT in Denton where she met her husband, Travis, and has lived in Duncanville since 1976. She and Travis have three wonderful sons, Trent, Matt and Aaron, two fantastic daughters-in-law, Angie and Aleigha, and two precious grandsons, Tresdin and Colton. The Talberts have been members of Tyler Street since 1977. Kay joined the TSUMC staff in 1987, and is currently serving as Financial Secretary. Apart from Tyler Street and family and friends, her other main interest is Bible Study Fellowship. She has been a member for over ten years, and is currently serving as a Children's Leader in BSF.

Julia Engel left Hungary in 1961 because of the Communist regime and came to America. She has been a US citizen for many years and so Julia has mixed feelings about how thick her Hungarian accents remains. She is blessed to live in the US and raise her two daughters in a free country. She is proud of her daughters- one is a nurse and one serves with the Dallas Police Department. She lives with the love of her life, a welsh Corgi named KIKI!
